I'm sure my coworkers think I've lost my shit. During my breaks at work, I'll be looking at the Kickstarter figures muttering "HOLY SHIT" "WTF" or "OMG" every time one of you joins the campaign. I'm sure it sounds like I'm either playing the funnest game ever...or...or....viewing extreme fetish porn.
A big fat welcome to all of you joining the project! I felt it was a crowning achievement for the demo when it got mentioned on the NSFW blog, Manhunt Daily. I'm not sure if you know what this means to me, but I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW, CAN YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND. And my deepest thanks to those of you also joining us from After Elton! So...we've nearly unlocked the hair mod and new scene options! In a day or two, no less?!? I guess it's already time to start talking about the next stretch goal:
MORE CLOTHING AND AN ILLICIT AFFAIR! (13,000)
- a change of clothing for Mark and all the romance-able boys (forum members will be voting on this one)
- a torrid tryst with one of the side characters (you'll have to figure out how and who yourself when you play the full game!)

ReplyDeleteI played the demo and enjoyed it, but the only thing that's really giving me pause from donating is that all of the guys have the same body type. While muscular guys are all well and good, some of us are lean skinny little twinks or big bears, and the lack of them is a bit disappointing.
Is this something that you plan to change in the future for the game?

DeleteAdding an entirely new character with his own story is an enormous endeavor for me. The writing has to be stellar, and it's not easy to do with my job at the moment--I have my hands full with the current story. The characters I have right now are set, though their looks will get refined over time. I feel odd about changing their body types too much.
As I've said elsewhere, I think the gay porn I've viewed has made an impression on what sorts of bodies I end up drawing and are fun for me to draw. XD But it would be fun to add more body types in...for sure.
I'm thinking of adding some Brofinder hookups in an add-on (probably the next stretch goal.) That way I can introduce more types of guys for fun one-night stands. I can certainly write those more easily in than I can an entire plot line.
Hopefully this game/Kickstarter/what-have-you does well enough so I can make a sequel or another game with additional characters. Maybe the ones that are popular from the add-on?
It's me again - I just read the manhunt daily article. It says "for your smartphone" in it, but I know at least one of the app stores wouldn't allow a game like this to exist, and the demo is for the computer, so I'm assuming they have it wrong? Maybe want to reach out to them so they can publish a correction. Would hate to see kickstarter backers back out after finding out it's for the computer only. :-(
